Brecksville

Our Brecksville Tavern stands in the space of the old Spanish Tavern, a longtime dining landmark on Cleveland's southwest side. The building started as a general store with a small dance hall in the upstairs loft — and a half-court basketball court where the dining room now sits.

The bar features a walk-in fireplace built from stones displaced during construction of the Ohio Canal, along with two arches salvaged from the former School House #6. The dining room is framed by hand-carved chestnut beams crafted in the 1930s from trees that originally stood on the property. Hand-blown glass light fixtures and our signature copper-top bar round out the space.

Legend has it the building's original owner never left — staff have reported hearing their names called and feeling a tap on the shoulder from someone unseen.
